CDXPAL is a lightweight utility built to enhance the OpenAI Codex experience on macOS. By utilizing the MacBook notch area, it provides real-time tracking of usage within the rolling 5-hour quota window, making it easier to manage workloads across AI agents. Additional features include multi-session monitoring, agent configuration visibility, and detailed request approval tracking, all accessible at a glance. The application currently runs locally, consumes less than 80 MB of memory, and remains private for now.
AI workflows have gradually replaced many of the repetitive steps in my work, making AI agent monitoring a critical part of my day. While using Codex, I noticed that once the app was out of focus, it became difficult to keep track of agent activity and usage.
The hardware notch on every MacBook Pro since 2021 is always there, yet largely underutilized. CDXPAL transforms that space into a live status hub for AI agents, displaying usage, session activity, approval requests, and other key information without interrupting my workflow.
