Kidoo is a concept design for a parental control app that helps parents stay informed about their children’s digital device usage. It allows children to enjoy the benefits of technology while encouraging healthy screen habits. The concept also includes location tracking to provide an added sense of safety and peace of mind for both children and parents.
Many parents feel a loss of control over their children’s digital lives—from age-inappropriate app content to the difficulty of enforcing healthy screen time limits.
One of the biggest challenges in this concept was finding the balance between the necessity of parental oversight and the discomfort of being constantly monitored. Instead of focusing on surveillance, I designed for manageable safety. Features such as a clearer app activity timeline, intuitive screen time management, purchase approvals, and real-time messaging allow parents to step in when needed without creating a sense of constant intrusion.
